Rhonda Coleman grew up in New Orleans, LA. Her background includes over 30 years of performance dance and instruction, over 15 years of martial-arts instruction of Capoeira, and over 10 years of body-work and rehabilitation experience. She is a licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and Certified Massage Therapist. Her interest in healing, health and wellness stems from her very active lifestyle and a desire to keep herself and others in the best possible health. She believes that longevity is dependent upon healthy and active living. Traditional Chinese Medicine's approach to health, "to restore the body to a condition where it can take care of itself, without introducing drugs into the system that the body then becomes dependent upon", really resonated with Rhonda's beliefs around wellness. She received a Master of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (M.S.TCM) at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CSTCM). CSTCM is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) which is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing acupuncture and Oriental medicine. She is currently working to complete the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree at AOMA School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. The school offers a medical focus in Care and Management of Pain and Associated Psychosocial Phenomena.
In her personal life, Rhonda is a wife, mother, teacher, healer, dancer, capoeirista, and advocate for social change, especially in the areas of health equity and "racial" equality.
